Simple is always best. We are very fortunate
to have such great local growers & suppliers here in Hampshire. When produce is this good, fresh and hasn't travelled hundreds of miles we try and let the ingredients be the star. And yes you will taste the difference.
Our menu may be smaller than most, but it does pack a punch. The menu alters daily as a result of our sourcing methods and commitment to seasonal produce.
We are currently cooking more meals than ever, over a thousand a week, and due to this huge increase we will now be staggering our bookings even further to ensure every customer gets that just cooked excellent plate of food. Please let us know if you are going to be late for your table, then we can make sure you receive the best possible food & service. We still and always will, operate a table for the whole night policy, so you will never be asked to move from your table for another booking unless you have just walked in and need a table quickly early evening.

2011/12 & 2013 Have been Fantastic years for us, even in this terrible recession we managed to grow stronger. It is thanks to Passionate Producers, Hard Working Team members & Loyal Customers that we have ridden
the storm and made 2011/12/13 our busiest years ever.
There are big changes too with our building, this year we will be having an internal & external refurbishment. All of our furniture, fittings & toilets will be refurbed as will the exterior look of The Bugle as we have the pub re-rendered & decorated. We will also be extending & refitting our kitchen to help with the huge increase in trade and to allow us to improve the daily menu further. We apologies for any inconvenience caused with the refurbishment, the disruption to trade should be minimal with closure only for a couple of days.
As our business has grown our teams knowledge & skill has grown too. We have taken on two new apprentice chefs for 2013 and we are looking forward to seeing their progression this year. For 2014 we will be improving our menu even further, using even more local growers and introducing new local ingredients to our customers. We have also become very popular with people with allergies, because we make everything here and we cook it to order we can always substitute ingredients to suit dietary needs.
For 2014 there will be more focus on sustainability, locally grown and organic produce, but most of all on taste & depth of flavours.We have been trialling lots of new ingredients from Jody Scheckter's Laverstoke Park Farm and we are really looking forward to seeing them on our menu.
Also new in is The Flowerpots Brewery Citra I.P.A, This is an Award winning bitter with a mule like kick and very, very drinkable. Upham brewery are now providing us with a superb 4.8% ABV Stakes Bitter, it is rich, dark & very mourish. We always have Bowman ales Swift one on as this has become our most popular bitter & for 2014 we have intriduced and extra bitter line to sell Cornish Doombar. We are very proud to serve excellent, locally brewed Beers and constantly change them to show off the quality from our three local Micro brewers. We have also recently introduced Aspall's Draught Suffolk Cider to go alongside our Weston's Stowford Press as a dryer alternative. Pilsner Urquell has also been added to enhance the lager range and because it is a perfectly balanced pilsner that goes really well with food.
At the Bugle our aim is to source great local produce. Our Beef, Lamb and Pork mainly comes from Laverstoke Park Farm the award winning organic Farm owned by ex Formula One champion Jody Scheckter. We also get our buffalo mozzarella, Buffalo Burgers, Ice creams, Ricotta & charcuterie from Jody.
Lydburn cheeses (New Forest), Barkham Cheeses & Sunbeam Watercress (Romsey) are our most recent new producers and we have also teamed up with Chef's Delight to source new Hampshire grown vegetables.
Not only is our food locally sourced, our bitters are brewed within ten miles of The Bugle as well. Flower Pots Brewery, Bowman Ales & Upham Brewery provide us with award winning beers.
